You never know what's over the next hill. It could be a glorious stretch of open road, or a problem which could set your journey back for hours. That's why Opel has joined forces with the main automobile clubs across Europe to bring you one of the most comprehensive roadside assistance packages available – Opel Assistance!
Opel Assistance is a mobility guarantee which comes with every new Opel vehicle for a minimum of one year and is absolutely free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from the date of purchase. For country-specific programmes and extensions, please refer to your local web page or contact your friendly Opel dealer.
Breakdown Assistance
Opel Assistance is dedicated to keeping you on the road. So if a breakdown occurs, Opel Assistance will dispatch a service provider whose aim is to get you mobile with minimum delay. Breakdown assistance is available for all cars and vans on public roads and at your home but does not include recovery of the vehicle. For all-terrain vehicles off-road breakdown assistance will also be provided where it is possible and legally permissible.
Your journey might be interrupted for a number of reasons besides mechanical or electrical failure, including:
• running out of fuel
• flat tyre
• flat battery
• lockout or lost keys
Whatever the reason for your delay, it's reassuring to know that roadside Opel Assistance is only a phone call away.
Breakdown assistance will also be provided in response to safety-related faults in the following components: seat belts, (broken-off) windshield wipers, directional indicators and front and rear lights.
Towing Services
If your vehicle cannot be repaired on the spot, Opel Assistance will arrange for a Recovery Service to tow your vehicle (including trailer) to the nearest Opel dealer, Authorised Service Operation or Repair Workshop.
Rental Car
In case your vehicle cannot be repaired the same day, the Opel Assistance Centre will arrange for a rental car of the same class as your vehicle for the duration of the repair – up to a maximum of four days.
Onward/Homeward Travel
In the event that a rental car is either not available or not practical, upon agreement with the Opel Assistance Centre, you will be reimbursed for the cost of a first class rail ticket. Or, if the rail journey is over six hours, an economy class flight.
Hotel Accommodation
If a breakdown occurs 80 km or more from your destination and your vehicle cannot be repaired the same day, Opel Assistance can arrange for accommodation in a 3-star hotel or the equivalent for the period your vehicle is in the shop, up to a maximum of four nights. The services of onward/homeward travel and accommodation cannot be combined unless special permission is obtained of the Opel Assistance Centre.
When your vehicle is ready for collection after repair (from the place of repair), Opel Assistance will reimburse the owner, driver or an authorised representative the cost of a first class rail ticket to collect the vehicle. Alternatively, if the rail journey is longer than six hours, an economy class flight ticket can be arranged.
What happens if the parts to get you back on the road are not readily available? No problem, we'll bring the parts to you! Opel Assistance will dispatch replacement parts to the repair workshop or to the nearest airport, taking care of all the necessary customs paperwork along the way.
Opel Assistance will cover the costs for dispatch, but the replacement part(s) and all necessary customs or importation fees will need to be covered by you.
