The Opel Corsa´s comprehensive active and passive safety systems have been cleverly synchronised to ensure maximum protection and driving fun.
The key element of Opel Corsa´s safety system is the extremely rigid passenger safety cell that protects the Corsa’s occupants. The result: the Opel Corsa has earned the maximum 5-star NCAP crash test rating.
Most Corsa models feature double-action front seatbelt pre-tensioners and up to six airbags, including front seat side-impact and curtain airbags. Press a button on the centre console to deactivate the front passenger’s airbag and you can keep a rear-facing child seat up front.
By reacting to your speed and steering input, AFL makes driving not just safer but also more relaxed and enjoyable. Extra lights shine 90° left or right at road junctions when the turn indicator is activated. To assist the driver when parking, these lights also illuminate the parking area when reversing. At higher speeds, the headlamps turn 15° outwards and 8° inwards in the direction of travel.
At speeds of more than 30 km/h, under ABS intervention, the illuminated brake lights blink five times per second to provide increased warning to drivers of following vehicles. In case of belt pretensioner or airbag activation the hazard lights are switched on automatically.
