MAYO CAPTAIN JACK COYNE SIGNS UP WITH ROCHFORD MOTORS OPEL

Rochford Motors, Main Opel Dealer in County Mayo, has announced the appointment of Jack Coyne as Opel Brand Ambassador. Hailing from Ballyhaunis and named Mayo GAA Senior Football Captain 2026, Jack has been presented with a brand-new Opel Grandland SUV. Rochford Motors is proud to see Jack take on this ambassador role as he now prepares to lead his county in Sunday’s Connacht Championship semi-final match against Roscommon at Castlebar’s McHale Park this Sunday 26 April at 4pm.

 

Progressing steadily through Mayo GAA ranks, Jack made his senior debut in 2021 when he came on as a substitute in the Connacht SFC clash against Leitrim. With determination and doggedness, he has since gone on to establish himself as a mainstay in the full-back line making 26 League and 21 Championship appearances for Mayo to date. He won a Connacht Senior Football Championship medal in 2021 and FBD League and Allianz League medals in 2023, whilst also winning a Mayo Intermediate Championship title with his club, Ballyhaunis GAA, in 2022.

 

A proven leader who has earned recognition for his defensive skills, the 25-year-old defender previously captained the Mayo U20's. PwC All-Star nominee Jack was named captain for the Mayo senior football team for the 2026 season.

 

Speaking on the new appointment, Liam Rochford, Dealer Principal at Rochford Motors Opel in Ballyhaunis commented: “We are so proud to welcome Jack as an Opel Ambassador at Rochford Motors.
